When two or fewer arrive at La Paz International Airport it is less expensive to take a group taxi-van into town from the airport (about $13US/each). If more than two persons, a private taxi might be less costly, but in either case be sure to check price before entering vehicle. Although it is a bit 'dear' to arrive, it is much less costly to depart -- about 50% the cost -- and so it all averages out. (FYI tipping taxi drivers is not common practice in Mexico.)
When driving from the south (Cabo San Lucas, etc.), you will enter the town on Blvd. Forjadores (3-4 lanes, divided) with many stop lights. Forjadores becomes Isabela la Catolica and also is reduced to 2 lanes, going one way (hopefully yours). Keep on going through three more stop lights. At the third stop light (when the large CCC grocery store is on your left), be in your left lane and take the next left, onto Calle N. Bravo (also one way heading down toward the bay). Follow Bravo all the way down (about 15 blocks) until you see the bay just ahead and you'll locate LA CASA MEXICANA on your right, one block from the bay.
When arriving by car from the north (from La Paz Airport and from San Diego), you'll pass through 2 small settlements (Chametla and El Centennario) before passing onto a 4 lane divided highway. Stay on this highway until it becomes 2 lanes (ignore the City Center/Cabo San Lucas signs to your right), and continue on into town very slowly (speed bumps) and you'll come to the edge of the bay where the Malecon begins. About 5 more blocks, will be the main Hotel Los Arcos. Just past the hotel, turn immediately to the right and go up two blocks to Revolucion, turn left for one block, and left again onto N. Bravo (one way heading back toward the water). LA CASA MEXICANA will be on your right, one block from the bay you will see just ahead.
Feel free to park in the green zone in front of the inn or in any location on the street that is NOT green (other than ours) nor red.
Helpful Driving Suggestions: There is danger in front of you when a car comming toward you is flashing their emergency lights. If you are trying to pass and a vehicle signals with their left turn signal, usually, this means it is clear to pass. Cows can be a problem and dangerous on the road but horses are even more threatening. Use extra caution when passing a horse, grazing alongside the road; often, they will bolt and run in front of you without apparent cause.
